My name is Richie Carter….I’m the CFO for Stack’s Furniture Outlet in Pelham (Birmingham), Alabama. We’ve been in business since October of 2010. The business was not doing well for a number of reasons: economy, location, multiple factors. We were to the point in December of 2011 where it was getting harder and harder to bring in inventory, as our vendors were putting us on credit hold. We were at a point where we needed to do something drastic.
After much debate and looking around…financial analysis, we decided to use Planned Furniture Promotions. They came in December of 2011 and did a going out of business event for us, which generated tremendous sales. They did as good a job or better than any other alternative we could have come up with. As a result, we had a very successful event. It exceeded our expectations. Our sales were far better than we budgeted. Not only did they do an outstanding job, but their integrity is second to none. They did an outstanding job, and did everything contractually that they were contracted to do and then exceeded that. We had a very successful event.
